Pig Iron School

Pig Iron School

The Pig Iron School is a physical theatre school rooted in Lecoq pedagogy and ensemble theatre practice. It is a space for rigorous experimentation, playful theatre-making, and long-lasting collaboration. In addition to the MFA and certificate programs offered through a partnership with UArts, the school offers additional workshops, residencies, and training.

Collaboration.  Risk-taking.  The pleasure of performance.

Pig Iron's education programs offer some of the most unique and comprehensive approaches to performance training in America.  Working within our two-time OBIE Award-winning ensemble's core creative tenets - physical character work and actor-generated playmaking - Pig Iron has instructed hundreds of students in universities, colleges, and high schools; in our own professional workshop series; and in our training program for leaders in the corporate and nonprofit sectors. We partnered with the University of the Arts in 2015 to offer MFA and Certificate Programs in Devised Performance. Learn more about those programs at the UArts graduate admissions site.
